Inspire the next generation to love nature and explore the outdoors

UPDATE 12/02/24: Please note all training places have now been filled and we are operating a waiting list.

Applications are now open for Level 3 Forest School Leader training, funded by the Lost Woods of the Low Weald and Downs project.

There are 10 course places available, with training provided by Lost Woods project partner the Sussex Wildlife Trust.  Youth workers, teachers, teaching assistants and community group leaders are encouraged to apply. To be eligible for the funded training, applicants must work in the Lost Woods project area.

The Level 3 course suits those who wish to lead, develop, and manage Forest School programmes, where they will gain a nationally recognised qualification accredited by AIM Qualifications.

Lost Woods Project Manager Sarah Williams said: “Forest School offers so many benefits to children through encouraging them to explore and confidently gain new skills, as well as helping to reconnect them with the natural world and their local woodlands.

“We’re delighted to be offering this training opportunity to help the Forest School movement within Sussex grow.  The trainees selected will learn the skills and gain the knowledge in how to confidently lead their own Forest Schools in the future.”

The Lost Woods project is made possible thanks to The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
