One of the newest conservation groups to have been set up in the Low Weald, the New Friends of Scrase Valley Orchard are helping to take care of a community orchard in the heart of Haywards Heath.

Volunteers from Sandgate Conservation Society look after a variety of habitats in Sandgate Park and woods. Melanie Gambrill from the group explains more and how you can join in.

Over 2024, Henfield Parish Council celebrated the village's biodiversity. Wildlife talks, survey days, a 'bioblitz', training days about bats, birds, beavers, butterflies and beetles, were all organised to educate and engage local people.
